Vitra Akari 1AY Table Lamp

One of the more colourful of Vitra’s Akari table lamps, the 1AY’s shade— which is inspired by traditional paper lanterns— is patterned with a vibrant tangerine design. It was designed by Japanese-American sculptural artist Isamu Noguchi in 1951, and is still crafted by hand with washi paper and bamboo rods, creating a lightweight shade that gently diffuses light.
