Sukajan jackets originated in Japan after the Second World War, when occupying US troops commissioned decorative jackets as a souvenir for their time overseas. These pieces blended Japanese and American iconography in ornate hand stitched designs – BAPE’s features the brand’s iconic ape head motif on the chest.
